Mission Statement

I truly believe that children do their best learning through play, after all if it’s not fun children don’t want to do it and if they don’t want to do it then they won’t learn from it. So at K’s Little Munchkins Day Home we learn through play in many different forms every day. Whether it is a simple lesson of sharing, working together, manners, knowing when and how to apologise to a friend, independence or for it to teach a wide variety of fine motor skills it’s always learning through a fun activity. I also work with the older children on simple skills that will be needed when they start kindergarten such as knowing their abc’s and 123’s, using safety scissors, holding a pencil, etc.

I also believe that children need to be exposed to new experiences and places to ensure they are well rounded and self-confident individuals. To help with this we go on regular field trips to a variety of locations such as the zoo, Science Center, museum, etc. We also enjoy going to Stir Crazy to have a fun safe place to just go crazy sometimes.

As a parent myself I urge all parent to make sure you are 100% comfortable with the child care provider you decide is right for your family. Whether that provider be myself or any other provider check references and trust your instincts. If you have any red flags at all, even little ones, find a different provider. The safety and well-being of your child should be first and foremost at the top of your list, as it is for me, and nothing should be more important!
